| What can I write about this great Gujarati poet who saw
Shiv-Sambhu and lord Krishna with his own eyes. I am not very good writer in any language so even If I use any great words, all are no use to explain his life and knowledge. The father of Gujarati poetry. His poems are full of GYAN YOGA, RAJ YOGA and above all BHAKTI YOGA.And he is also known as "POET OF MORNING" because of his famous "PRABHATIA". One very well known and Mahatma Gandhi's favorite "Vaishnav jan to tene re kahi-yere". He his very common man who always think for others and his life is total devoted to the god. RAGA-KEDAR is gift to him from God and most of his Bhajans are based on that only. (Please correct me if I am wrong) Narshi mehta was born in Gujarat -Kathiawad Vakaner (Correction require) in 1408-80 in Nagar family. He spent his life in famous city of Gujarat Junagadh. Narshi was total devoted to the lord Krishna. He is really fear less poet who dare to sing BHAJANS in the area of lower cast also in that time. People from cast and society warn him to put out side Nagar cast, but still NAGAR NARSI as no fear of human being who believe in difference between one man and other. Once you give your joy,fear,sour and love to GOD I don't think you have to fear with any thing. |
